Beach Pix | Edithvale Bayside VIC | 2018-09-25
These are the first beach pics I ever took with the Canon 400D. I was just starting to learn how to use the Canon 400D. I obtained it some 18 months earlier, but handed it over to one of my high school kids for her media classes. She has since no longer required or used it as the school no longer offers the media class, and she hasn’t taken the time to further explore her photography skills, even though she started getting good at it.
While taking these shots, I hadn’t yet learned the “expose triangle” rule to getting proper exposures by manually setting the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. Instead, I was using one of the automatic settings – the one that basically balances these out for you and disabling the flash.
I had already started shooting in RAW alongside the JPG format so I could do something with them later in Photoshop or Lightroom. The images below were processed exclusively in Photoshop as I hadn’t yet started using LightRoom.
Enjoy!
