Trip to San Remo & Phillip Island – Revisiting the Canon 400D
So it’s been months since I took out the Canon 400D DSLR camera and actually took some photos, but is been around 7 years since my wife and I actually went on a holiday together without anyone else (yes, excluding the kids on a holiday!) Seven years is far too long and we have been feeling this for a while with a desperate need to just take a few days to ourselves to simply chill, relax, not worry about work, work, kids, housework, the business, church, oh and did I mention work??
Melissa found a Groupon voucher for two nights getaway at Silver Water Resort in San Remo for a very good price – less than $300 all up! So she bought it, then we booked it, took the time off and planned to just do whatever we wanted, go where we wanted, no fixed times for tours, just chillax!
I decided as part of this trip, figured I would bring the Canon 400D along – maybe I will be inspired to take a few happy snaps along the way…
Well, I did – the weather was amazing for this time of year – normally the end of August / beginning of September Melbourne experiences rain, grey clouds, and no outdoor pleasure (unless you’re into that sort of thing). To our surprise, we were delighted with sunny days, clear skies, breathtaking sunsets, and shear bliss!
We visited Churchill Island Heritage Farm, Cowes Esplanade beachfront, and the world-famous Panny’s / Phillip Island Chocolate Factory – enjoyed cheese & dip platters, wines, fruits, and yummy focaccia lunches!
Below are some of the shots I took on the Canon 400D – the better shots. As the sun was high and I am way out of practice, there were a number of shots that I wasn’t too happy with, but as always, I keep all my RAW’s (except the really bad / blurry / un-saveable ones), but only edit up the ones I like.
As always, enjoy!
